Reduced Fuel Cost
Compared to Diesel

Stable Fuel Prices

CNG is often 27-45% lower than the diesel price, with fewer price fluctuations. This makes it a cost-effective choice, mainly where CNG prices are low, presenting a promising alternative to diesel, with economic and environmental benefits. Costs can be further reduced with various State and Federal tax and other incentives on infrastructure and vehicles, including RNG integration via the RFS (Renewable Fuel Standard).

Renewable Sources

Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) is a direct replacement for fossil-based natural gas, offering a renewable alternative. RNG, or biomethane, is biogas upgraded from various renewable sources like landfills, livestock farms, and food production facilities. Lancer Energy works with Pine Creek RNG to supply RNG to fleets.

Fast Return on Investment

While CNG/RNG trucks have an incremental upfront cost compared to diesel, they have an average 18–24-month payback period, due to lower fuel prices. The greater your fleet's mileage, the faster the ROI. NGVs (Natural Gas Vehicles) don't require certain parts that diesel trucks require, such as filters and catalytic elements (DPF's and SCR's), which reduces operation and maintenance and upfront costs.

Cleaner Air
& Quieter Engines

CNG engines emit fewer pollutants like particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. Greenhouse gas reductions are 13% –17%, CO2 reductions are 25% or greater compared to diesel and up to 10 decibels quieter on average, with enhanced driver comfort and compliant with noise-sensitive residential areas.
